Artisan Plastic Surgery is the premier all woman physician plastic surgery practice in Atlanta, Georgia. Originally founded in 2000, Artisan Plastic Surgery has two board certified plastic surgeons: Drs. Diane Alexander and Bernadette Wang Ashraf. The Atlanta breast implants surgeons doctors use not only their extensive plastic surgery training and experience with thousands of patients, but their artistic vision and skills to deliver the highest quality plastic surgery services to their patients.
Dr. Diane Alexander was named one of the “Top Plastic Surgeons in America” and is the Chief of Surgery at Northside Hospital. She studied at Yale University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine and trained in general and plastic surgery at Emory University. She dedicates her professional training and expertise to cosmetic facial surgery, body sculpture, breast rejuvenation, and breast cancer reconstruction. Dr. Alexander and her husband Kent, have two teenage daughters. In her spare time she designs and creates her own glass beads and jewelry.
Dr. Bernadette Wang-Ashraf joined Artisan Plastic Surgery in 2001. She graduated summa cum laude from Purdue University and trained in general and plastic surgery at one of the leading academic institutions in the country, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She devotes her professional training and experience to cosmetic breast surgery, body contouring, and breast cancer reconstruction. Dr. Wang-Ashraf and her husband Farooq Ashraf have three young daughters and is also a talented artist. She spends her free time painting and playing the piano.

Diane Z. Alexander, MD, FACS, co-founded Artisan Plastic Surgery in 2000, the first, all women physician plastic surgery practice in Atlanta, Georgia. Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons, Dr. Alexander devotes her private practice to the pursuit of the highest quality plastic surgery services for her patients. She views her profession as a form of artistic expression and has become one of the most respected plastic surgeons in Atlanta.
Dr. Alexander graduated cum laude from Yale University, where she studied music, history, art and political science as well as premedical courses. She studied medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society.
Following medical school, Dr. Alexander trained at Emory University in the general and plastic surgery residency programs. During her clinical training, she served as a fellow in the transplant immunology department performing mouse heart transplants using microsurgical techniques. She received grants for this work from the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation and the National Institutes of Health, co-published dozens of articles in peer reviewed scientific journals and lectured extensively in the United States as well as abroad.
Dr. Alexander is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is Chief of Surgery at Northside Hospital. She is active in the community as a member of the Atlanta Women’s Foundation and the Atlanta Women’s Medical Alliance. For relaxation, she enjoys spending time with her husband Kent and two teen-age daughters, collecting art, traveling to the Oregon coast and Costa Rica, and designing and creating glass beads and jewelry.
Bernadette Wang-Ashraf, MD, FACS is a leading board-certified plastic surgeon with the highest level of experience in the areas of breast surgery, body contouring, aesthetic facial surgery, and breast cancer reconstruction.
Dr. Wang-Ashraf graduated summa cum laude from Purdue University before going on to earn her medical degree at the John Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Wang-Ashraf then completed rigorous training in general surgery and plastic surgery at the world-renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the Raymond Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
After her training, Dr. Wang-Ashraf was honored with an academic position in the Emory University plastic surgery residency program, where she mentored and taught Emory residents. In 2001, she joined Dr. Alexander in private practice at Artisan Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Ashraf is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and she is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition, she was honored with membership to the Johns Hopkins Medical and Surgical Association and the Atlanta Women’s Medical Alliance. Dr. Ashraf is the mother of three young daughters and is married to the renowned Lasik surgeon Dr. Farooq Ashraf. She is also a talented painter and enjoys playing the piano in her free time.
