James Apesos, MD, FACS, received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania and at Southern Illinois University, where in his final year he was selected to serve as Chief Resident. He also served as the Plastic Surgery Chief Resident and as an instructor of plastic surgery at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. In recognition of his excellence in plastic surgery, Dr. Apesos has received awards and honors from numerous organizations and publications, including Marquis Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, the Dayton Rotary Club, and Best Doctors in America — Midwest. Currently he is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Association of Pediatric Plastic Surgeons, the American Burn Association, the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Association of Academic Chairs of Plastic Surgery, the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, the Ohio State Medical Association, and the Plastic Surgery Research Council.
